Electronic Filing

Electronic Filing

Jurnal Bina Mulia Hukum is committed to ensuring that every published article is preserved and remains permanently accessible to readers, researchers, and the public. This policy explains how the journal stores and preserves its published content, and how authors may deposit their work in other repositories.

1. Journal Archiving and Digital Preservation

All articles published in Jurnal Bina Mulia Hukum are stored electronically and preserved through several layers:

  • Journal website. All issues and articles, from the first volume to the most recent, are available in full text on the journal’s Archives page. The journal is managed with Open Journal Systems (OJS), and the server is maintained by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Padjadjaran.
  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The journal’s content is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network, a LOCKSS-based system that keeps copies across distributed archives. If the journal ceases publication or its website becomes unavailable, the published content will remain accessible. [Verify that the PKP PN plugin is enabled before publishing this statement.]
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Every article is assigned a DOI through Crossref. The DOI gives the article a permanent identifier and a stable link, so it can always be found even if the website address changes.
  • Indexing and national repositories. Article metadata and full texts are also available through indexing and discovery services such as Garuda, Google Scholar, Dimensions, Indonesia OneSearch, and WorldCat.
  • Internal backups. The journal’s server is backed up regularly so that articles, metadata, and editorial records can be restored if technical problems occur.

2. Author Self-Archiving Policy

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and authors retain copyright over their work. Authors may therefore deposit their articles in other repositories without asking the journal for permission, and without any embargo period:

Version Description Self-archiving permitted
Preprint (submitted version) The manuscript before peer review Yes, at any time
Postprint (accepted version) The manuscript after peer review and acceptance, before final layout Yes, upon acceptance
Published version (Version of Record) The final PDF as published by the journal Yes, immediately upon publication

Authors may deposit their articles in places such as:

  • their institution’s repository,
  • national repositories (for example, Garuda or the Universitas Padjadjaran repository),
  • subject repositories such as SSRN,
  • academic profiles such as Google Scholar, SINTA, ORCID, ResearchGate, or Academia.edu,
  • personal or institutional websites.

When an article is archived, authors are asked to:

  • cite the original publication in Jurnal Bina Mulia Hukum, including the volume, issue, year, and pages,
  • include the article’s DOI link,
  • state that the article is licensed under CC BY 4.0.

For a preprint that is later accepted, authors are encouraged to update the repository entry with a link to the published version.

3. Record Retention

The journal keeps electronic records of the editorial and peer review process, including submitted manuscripts, review reports, correspondence, and editorial decisions. These records support accountability and allow the journal to respond to any questions raised after publication. They are kept confidential and are not published.
