Author Guidelines

A. General Provisions

  1. The “Manuscript” in this guideline refers to a narrative article, which is a scientific work resulting from research or conceptual ideas related to legal science.

  2. Authors submitting manuscripts to the Poros Hukum Padjadjaran Journal are required to create and sign a stamped statement declaring that the manuscript is their original work and has never been published in other media.

  3. Manuscripts must be uploaded via the network page: https://jurnal.fh.unpad.ac.id/index.php/jphp following the manuscript submission flow.

B. Manuscript Writing Requirements

  1. Language: Manuscripts must be written in English.

  2. Layout:

    • Paper size: A4.

    • Margins: Top 4 cm, Left 4 cm, Bottom 3 cm, Right 3 cm.

    • Font: Book Antiqua, size 11.

    • Line Spacing: 1,3.

  3. Word Count: Minimum 4000 words and maximum 7000 words (excluding abstract, footnotes, and bibliography).

  4. Structure and Systematics:

    • a. Title:

      • Written in short, informative, and descriptive sentences describing the substance of the manuscript.

      • Font: Book Antiqua, size 12, Bold.

    • b. Author's Name:

      • Listed without academic titles.

      • Accompanied by affiliation (agency/institution) and email address.

    • c. Abstract and Keywords:

      • Abstract: Maximum 250 words in one single paragraph. It must reflect the problem, research method, results, and suggestions (if any). Font: Book Antiqua, size 10, single spacing (1.0).

      • Keywords: 3 words/phrases, arranged alphabetically, reflecting the essence of the article.

    • d. Introduction and the problem: Includes the background and the formulation of the problem.

    • e. Research Method: Explains the method used (if the manuscript is research-based).

    • f. Discussion: Sub-headings are not numbered but written directly as sub-headings relevant to the issues discussed.

    • g. Results/Findings: Consists of conclusions and suggestions written in descriptive paragraph form (not numbered points).

C. Citation and Reference Guidelines (Chicago Style 17th Ed.)

Every citation must be referenced using the Footnote model. Both footnotes and the bibliography must strictly follow the Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition) – Notes and Bibliography system.

  • Font for Footnotes: Book Antiqua, size 9, single spacing (1.0).

2. Subsequent Citations (Shortened Citations)

Replacing Ibid., Op. Cit., and Loc. Cit.

In accordance with the 17th Edition of the Chicago Manual of Style, the use of Latin abbreviations (Ibid., Op. Cit.) is discouraged. Instead, use the Shortened Citation format for any source that has already been cited in full.

Format: Author's Last Name, Shortened Title (4 words max), Page Number.

3. Bibliography Construction

  1. The Bibliography must be placed at the end of the manuscript.

  2. Do not use numbering/bullets for the bibliography list; arrange entries alphabetically by the author's last name.

  3. Format: Book Antiqua, size 11, single spacing, with a hanging indent.

  4. Source Composition: At least 10% of the references must come from scientific journals.


D. Editorial Notes

  1. The editor reserves the right to modify the manuscript's formatting and writing style as long as it does not alter the substance or main content of the discussion.

  2. Conceptual idea manuscripts follow the same systematics but exclude the "Research Method" section.
